Care for our current resources is a touchstone of all of the firm's efforts to promote sustainability. Our current resources, including nonrenewable energy sources, forests, clean air and clean water, are under threat from habits of waste developed through the last century.
We work actively with our engineers to find the most efficient building systems available, and to present options to our clients in terms of first costs and life time benefits. On a larger scale, we worked with engineer Ron Pace to pursue funding for a proposed Energy Independence District for the Port Richmond Industrial District that combined off the grid power sources with industrial uses for residual heat.
Installing efficient building systems and using materials from renewable sources can only go so far to create a sustainable future. Individual actions are the key to that future, and we design buildings to foster individual habits of conservation, recycling and reuse.
